I spent a week meticulously sketching the octopus, experimenting with various ideas, and this design became my favorite. It evokes the imagery of ancient Rome, and I can easily imagine it adorning the sail of a ship from that era. The octopus has fascinated me for years, and it will always remain a subject I’m drawn to paint.
